This restaurant is owned by one of Staffordshire’s best known restaurateurs John Ashmore along with Chef Mark Medley. As a single woman travelling for business I try to look for independent restaurants. My dinner at Bistro 1709 was absolutely AMAZING!! The ambience is very rustic and unassuming. The menu simple and not overcomplicated and offers something for everyone......and I am fussy!! I cannot wait for my next trip to Lichfield so that I can pay a return visit. Thank You

Very calm relaxed atmosphere perfect for a meet up with friends. The staff were charming and professional we felt we could have been in France. Excellent food and between us we tried a wide range of what was on offer. I particularly enjoyed the chicken dish. Can definitely recommend this venue for lunchtime
